Jenny Maciel, a longtime member of the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society (KWHS) community, passed away early Friday morning, September , 2026, leaving colleagues, friends and animal lovers mourning a woman whose life was closely connected to caring for animals and supporting the people around them. The Humane Society shared the news on September 28, remembering Jenny as someone who became much more than a colleague over the years and whose presence became part of the organization’s fabric.
Jenny’s connection with KWHS began in 2005, and during more than two decades she found many ways to share her knowledge, compassion and love for animals. Her work included caring for animals, helping families, training dogs and supporting fellow colleagues.
